Seegea supports both Shopify and PrestaShop — it is the only tool that accompanies you on both sides of the migration. Here is the full plan to migrate without losing traffic or data.
PrestaShop to Shopify migration
Step 1: PrestaShop catalog audit
Before migrating, inventory: number of products and variants, category structure, metafields (features), current URLs, images, SEO metadata (title, meta description per product), and customer/order data to migrate or not.
Step 2: data mapping
PrestaShop and Shopify have different structures:
- PrestaShop categories → Shopify collections (1 native level max)
- Product features → Shopify metafields (namespace.key)
- Declinations → Variants (100 Shopify limit)
- URL /category/product-name.html → /products/product-handle
Step 3: product data migration
Via Shopify Admin API or CSV import. Metafields require the API. Seegea can be used to clean up and enrich the catalog after import.
Step 4: 301 redirects
Every old PrestaShop URL must point to its Shopify counterpart. Shopify allows importing redirects via CSV from Online Store > Navigation > URL Redirects.
