The short description formula

Customers read the short description before the title on mobile. Use this formula: [Outcome] + [Key differentiator] + [Target use case]. Example: "Ultralight linen shirt that stays cool in 35°C heat — ideal for summer travel and business casual."

Long description structure

Hook (2-3 lines)

One sentence that names the problem, one sentence that names your product as the answer. No adjective soup. No exclamation marks.

Benefits block (3-5 bullets)

Each bullet: a concrete outcome, not a feature. "Stays dry for 8 hours" beats "moisture-wicking fabric". Attribute the benefit to a spec only if it adds credibility.

Specs table + care

Material, weight, dimensions, certifications, washing instructions. Structured data that feeds both the customer and Google Shopping attributes.
Never use the supplier description verbatim. Even a light rewrite (changing sentence order + adding one benefit) is enough to avoid duplicate content penalties on Google.

Adapting the template by industry

Add these sections depending on your vertical:

  • Fashion: size guide link, model measurements, material origin
  • Tech: compatibility table, certification logos, box contents
  • Food: ingredient list, nutrition facts, allergen table, expiry info
