XML product export: Lengow, Google Merchant and marketplace feeds in one place

Your product XML feed is the backbone of your multi-channel distribution. A poorly structured or stale feed means rejected products on Google Shopping and lost sales on your marketplaces.

A poorly structured XML product feed is expensive: products rejected on Google Shopping, invalid listings on Amazon or eBay, stock desync across marketplaces. Feed quality depends directly on data quality upstream — and that's exactly where Seegea intervenes.

Essential XML fields for Google Merchant Center

Mandatory fields

id, title, description, link, image_link, availability, price, condition. Without any of these 8 fields, the product is rejected before the Shopping algorithm even evaluates it.

Strongly recommended fields

gtin (EAN/UPC), brand, mpn, product_type, google_product_category, additional_image_link, sale_price. These fields improve relevance and eligibility for free listings.

Variant fields

item_group_id, color, size, gender, age_group, material, pattern. Mandatory for apparel and recommended for all categories with variants.

To be eligible for free Shopping listings, feed quality must be impeccable. An average feed is sufficient for paid ads — not for free listings.

Enriching data before XML export

The quality of an XML feed depends directly on the quality of product listings in your CMS. Seegea lets you enrich your catalog massively upstream:

  • AI product descriptions — compliant with Merchant Center standards, no keyword stuffing
  • Optimized WebP images 1000×1000 — neutral background, reduced weight, Google Shopping compliant
  • AI-generated alt text — improves image indexing
  • Synchronized prices and stock — immediate push to Shopify or PrestaShop

Once your data is enriched in Seegea, your native XML feed (generated by Shopify, PrestaShop or an aggregator like Lengow) immediately reflects these improvements.

Built in France between Annecy and Chantilly, Seegea supports Shopify and PrestaShop merchants with an included kickoff Google Meet session.

FAQ

Google Merchant Center accepts two formats: Google XML feed (with g:id, g:title, g:description, g:link, g:image_link, g:price, g:availability tags) and extended RSS 2.0. The Google XML format is more precise and recommended for complex catalogs with variants.

Give your catalog the attention it deserves.
